St Matthews Road, Norwich
This used to be called Kissing Valley 1850 before the houses were built and a school was at the bottom of the road which is still there but now flats.
St Matthews Place
Used to be a Thorpe Hamlet National School built in 1852. It was also a Parish Hall. It is now a development of 14 one and two bedroom individual apartments.
Before it was the building you see today it used to be Thorpe Hamlet National School built in 1852. The School soon suffered from overcrowding and was replaced by Thorpe Hamlet Board School on St Leonard’s Road in 1887.
In 1889 the building was demolished to make way for the widening of Riverside Road, and a new Parish Hall was built on the site in 1891.
