Carrow Road
Amazing photo sorry not sure who sent it in but amazing to see the whole of Boulton & Paul demolished to make way for the riverside development.
Norwich City Football Club South Stand construction at Carrow Road. Circa 1960. Sorry do not know who to credit for the photo.

Possibly the most unique house in Norwich. A one of a kind shop / off licence of Norwich.
In 1890, listed at 26 Clarence Road.
The landlord was also described as a shopkeeper.
The Cracknell family were licensees from 1931 to 1956.
No evidence of beer being consumed on the premises they advertised in 1937 as offering, "Youngs & Crawshay's celebrated ales and stout in bottle and from the wood. Free delivery, no order too small. A good variety of wines always in stock".
Leonard J. Cracknell was last listed in 1939.
It may well be that the business closed for the duration of World War 2.
By 1950 Mrs. D. Cracknell was listed as a Beer Retailer.
Her last entry appears to be in 1956.
Joseph Leonard Turner became licensee from 1956 to close (see photo).
Situated on the corner of Carrow Road and Clarence Road it was ideal to buy your daily paper, milk, bread, tobacco and beer. Also handy for a quick one before going to watch the Canaries. The CLARENCE HARBOUR was just down the road too.
Closed late 1960's to early 1970's.
Demolished c1970's

And how it looks today.
33 Carrow Road
No 33 used to be a fried fish shop in 1970. This is the last house on Carrow Road. On the other side of the Kerrison Road were the other houses numbers 1 - 31 but that is now part of the Norwich City FC car park.
