The thatched cricket pavilion was opened in 1933 by the Lord Mayor of Norwich. It was donated by Sir Michael Falcon who was born at Sprowston Manor in 1888. The thatch roof was made by Farman Bros of Salhouse.
Sprowston Junior School
It changed from The Senior School to Sprowston Junior School in 1963. The senior school moved to Cannerby Lane and became Sprowston Secondary Modern School. The Junior School moved from the school on School Lane (now the youth centre etc etc) to Recreation Ground Road in 1963. Some teachers names back then were Mr Bottomley, Miss Chase, Mr Hardy and Mr Cobb and the Headmaster was Mr Brady.
They opened new school at cannerby lane had to pay 6p a week for the swimming pool.

The bike track was opened in August 1991 by Sprowston Parish Council chairman Muriel Yarnall and it was built by offenders on community service.
