This old shop now converted back to a house used to be a Confectioners run by W J Lake and he had a Daughter called Veronica in the 1960's and 70's.
It was later taen over by the Kent’s and is now two house, 41 and 41a. Thanks to Darren Lake whose Grandparents used to run the shop. The shop had a selection of Matchbox and Corgi toys in the left-hand window.

Used to be a shop called Shortens in the 40's and 50's
Joyce and P Chandler took over it later run by Joyce and P Chandler
It was also run by Mr Lake as a grocers shop who always had a Blue Vanden Plas parked out the front.
It later became a Mace shop.
